It's Official

It's official folks...I'm on vacation. Don't fear though, I'll be back on July 20 rested and rejuvenated. Unless of course I decide to be a beach bum...there are a lot of good photo opportunities on the beach.

Happy Summer!

On the Way to the Altar

Stephen and Rochelle are getting married soon and we had the great pleasure of taking their engagement pictures last week. We had a great time together exploring Sac State (where they met), having lunch and walking around Old Sac. And, I learned a few things...Sac State is a great place to go on the weekends, especially in the summer and breaking for lunch in the middle of an engagement shoot is a great idea - thanks Stephen and Rochelle! We had a blast and hope you did too.

I couldn't resist a collage of these three - a true candid moment. Hmm, I might go back to "Kandid Kids" - if you know me at all, you know I'm a sucker for candid portraiture and aren't we all kids at heart?

Sweet, Sweet Brothers

I know I'm doing my job when I either cry or laugh at an image. This first image was definately a tear jerker - the love in his eyes...this is one to pull out when they're fighting over...well, whatever. A friend of mine once said that the relationship that you have with your sibiling is one of the longest you will have in your life - this first image says that to me.

Enjoy.

That's What Boys are Made Of

I'm so flattered that this family that moved to Arizona always calls me photograph their family when they are in California. Parker and Brooksey are so cute and I love their curls! And Mom is so great...she has a terrific online store, Biltmore Baby, with some really cute stuff for babies.

Enjoy.

Too Much Fun

Abbie and Gavin were so much fun. It was a little challenging to try to get them to sit for a posed picture together but I love the ones of them enjoying each other and having fun together. Abbie's got the sweetest little voice and as I was going through the images it was as if I could hear her talking to me.

Family Blessings

This family invited me to photograph their beautiful baby girl only 3 days after her birth - what a true honor. I always marvel at how much available light there is in post-partum hospital rooms - it must be related to the gift of life that each newborn is to their family. This room, in particular was filled with beautiful natural light; but more importantly, it was filled with love.

Two Big Sisters and One Baby Boy

This little man is going to be very well taken care of - his twin sisters couldn't be cuter or sweeter.

Enjoy.

Sad to See You Go

Some friends of ours, and previous clients, were throwing a going away party for some of their good friends who are moving out of state and asked us to come take a group shot at the neighborhood (adult) hangout. Everyone (including yours truly) had a great time.

Carlos and Misa, you will be missed.

Big Brother

Newborn babies are some of my favorite subjects and one of the fun things about photographing newborns is to see the newborn experience through the eyes of a big brother or big sister. One minute they are the doting big brother, the next they want nothing to do with the new little person and a little later they want to "hug" them (read "squeeze" them).

Another perk...I get to be one of the first to meet the baby. This beautiful little girl and her big brother belong to one of my very best friends from high school. It was truly an honor to photograph them.

Enjoy.
