Cherishing the Days

When I photographed this family that just welcomed their second girl, I was taken back 5 1/2 years to when my second daughter was born. As my youngest gets ready to enter kindergarten, I find myself remembering those baby and preschool times with fondness - though not necessarily wishing to be back in the days of diapers and sleepless nights. I feel so fortunate that my job is to capture the lives of families so that when these girls are getting ready for kindergarten and beyond, these moments can be remembered and shared.

Stephen & Rochelle - Teaser

We had the honor of photographing the wedding of Stephen and Rochelle on August 16. They are back from their honeymoon now and I promised a sneak peek of their wedding photos. I was having difficulty choosing just a few to post so instead I challenged myself to choose only one image to post as a teaser that tells Stephen and Rochelle's story. This is it - fun and loving - that's Stephen and Rochelle. The way that Stephen looks at Rochelle with pure love gets me all choked up. The fun and joy they have in their lives is so contagious my cheeks hurt from smiling.

There will be more images to enjoy shortly, but in the meantime remember those in your life that you love and that bring you joy.

Where Does that Door Go?

Jason and I had a terrific time getting to know this family. I'm pretty much a city girl - we live about 5 minutes from downtown, can walk to the grocery store, have many, many great restaurants within a few miles - but visiting with and shooting this family at their country home helped me to understand what all the fuss is about. It was like being on vacation at home. Not to mention a photographers dream with a pond, a bridge, a terrific red barn, lots of beautiful trees, and, of course, a red door in the middle of a field.

We won't be moving to the country, but we might have to go back for a visit.

Pure Joy

It is so much fun to meet families just after they have welcomed a new life into theirs. This new family was so sweet and loving. I really enjoyed having Grandma there and capturing a few shots with her as well.

Any Day Now

It was such a joy to photograph Janelle and Greg as they await their first child. We photographed their wedding (our first ever) several years ago and nothing has changed - their love for each other (and their growing family) is so apparent it makes my job easy.

Blondies

These little blondies were so sweet. We had a lot of fun exploring their backyard and I grabbed some great shots of them in their own environment.

Back at It

I'm finally getting back on track after my wonderful vacation.

These kids were a lot of fun to photograph. Their mom had warned me that being photographed was not on her son's top 10 list but we had a great time and even captured a smile or two.
